Genesis Climber Mospeada(機甲創世記モスピーダ)finally rides into Good Smile Company’s MODEROID line as a fully transforming plastic model kit. Hobby Search has opened preorders for the VR-052T Ray Type and VR-052F Stick Type, both scheduled for a September 2026 release at 8,500 yen (tax in) per kit.

A fresh MODEROID Mospeada kit for modern mecha fans

The new MODEROID Mospeada kits reimagine the classic Ride Armor design under the supervision of mechanical designer and director Shinji Aramaki, updating the anime look into a clean, buildable model. Each kit is a non-scale plastic model with a Ride Armor height of about 160 mm, featuring fully articulated joints and multiple optional hand parts for posing. The result targets builders who want something more involved than a fixed robot toy, but less fragile than a high-end garage kit.

Armor Cycle to Ride Armor, capturing the full transformation

Both VR-052T and VR-052F can switch between Armor Cycle and Ride Armor modes, with the leg transformation of the riding suit also reproduced in plastic. The Laser Hound can be reconfigured by attaching or removing the muzzle and stock, and the helmet visor uses clear parts, with both a pre-painted and a fully clear version in the box. These are the kind of small gimmicks that keep a transformable mecha kit fun to handle even after the initial build.

Ride Armor details and color separation for easy building

To help builders hit anime-accurate looks out of the gate, the kits use multiple molding colors, clear parts and a selection of pre-painted pieces, plus water-slide marking decals and printed eyes for the head parts. That means even a mostly straight build already gets close to the on-screen Ride Armor color balance, while advanced modelers can still go wild with panel lining and weathering on top.

VR-052T Ray Type and VR-052F Stick Type loadout differences

Ray’s VR-052T uses his signature riding suit color scheme and comes equipped with a 40 mm beam gun, Laser Hound and shield. Stick’s VR-052F swaps in his darker suit colors and ups the firepower with a missile pod, targeting sensor, Laser Hound and beam cannon, which can be mounted on the front cowl of the Armor Cycle via replacement parts. Displayed together, the two kits naturally fall into “support” and “assault” roles on your shelf.
