Contributor Guidelines

🖋️ Contributor Guidelines

Welcome to the contributor guidelines for news.anibu.jp — an English-language anime news site based in Japan.

Our articles are written by internal team members who are creators with disabilities, supported by assistive technologies such as AI tools. These guidelines help us ensure a consistent tone, structure, and level of quality across all content we publish.

While we do not currently accept external submissions, these standards are intended to support both our internal writers and future collaborators.

📝 Types of Content We Publish

We primarily cover the following topics:

  • New anime announcements and release information
  • Collaborations, pop-up cafes, exhibitions
  • Anime merchandise (Blu-rays, figures, books, etc.)
  • Voice actor and staff-related news
  • Manga launches and digital campaigns
  • Anime-related cultural events and community topics
  • Comparison or roundup articles, in-depth coverage of specific topics or creators, trend commentary

All content must be suitable for international readers and follow basic accuracy and respect standards.

🧭 Writing Tone & Style

We aim for a tone that is:

  • Neutral yet enthusiastic
  • Accessible to anime fans of all backgrounds
  • Written in clear, plain English (avoid overly technical or slang-heavy language)

Writers are encouraged to include light commentary or context when needed, but the focus should always remain on the factual news itself.

🧱 Basic Article Structure

  1. Headline: Clear, informative, includes key subject (anime title, event, etc.)
  2. Opening paragraph: Summary of the news (What, Who, When, Where)
  3. Details section: Specifics — dates, names, item descriptions, release methods
  4. Closing: Optional short sentence to wrap up or link to other relevant news

🔍 Sources and Attribution

  • News must be based on official or verified sources such as PR TIMES, production company websites, official social media, or reputable Japanese news outlets.
  • When summarizing or rephrasing from a source, always link to the original when possible.
  • Images used must be official promotional material or fully rights-cleared.

🤖 Use of AI Tools

Our team uses AI tools for:

  • Translating Japanese source material into English
  • Structuring and refining text for clarity
  • Suggesting headlines and hashtags

All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by a human before publication to ensure quality and context accuracy.

🧾 Submission & Review Process

  1. Draft your article in Google Docs or WordPress draft mode
  2. Proofread or request a team review if needed
  3. Submit for final editorial check
  4. Once approved, add featured image, tags, and publish
  5. Share the URL with AI feedback assistant (optional)

We aim to keep this process simple and repeatable for all team members.
