ABEMA is once again turning Christmas Eve into a chaotic romance watch party. The platform will host a more-than-24-hour School Days marathon from December 24, 2025, streaming all 12 TV episodes plus two OVAs for free to mark the visual novel’s 20th anniversary.
ABEMA Brings Back Its School Days Christmas Marathon for a 10th Year
For the tenth year in a row, ABEMA is making the infamously messy love story of Makoto Itou, Kotonoha Katsura and Sekai Saionji the centerpiece of its Christmas programming. The 2007 TV anime, based on Overflow’s 2005 visual novel, remains notorious for its intense final stretch and still has a strong cult following.
All 12 Episodes Plus Two OVAs Stream Free for Over 24 Hours
This year’s special goes all in: ABEMA will stream the entire 12-episode TV series along with two OVAs, Valentine Days and Magical Heart Kokoro-chan, in a marathon that runs for more than 24 hours straight.

Celebrating 20 Years of the Original School Days Visual Novel
2025 marks twenty years since the original School Days visual novel first launched, and the marathon doubles as an anniversary event. It is a chance for longtime fans to revisit the story and for curious newcomers to finally see what all the drama is about.
Broadcast Times, Channel Details and One-Week Free Archive
The marathon airs on ABEMA’s Anime SPECIAL channel from December 24, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. until December 25 at 1:45 a.m. JST, with multiple reruns of the climactic episodes 10–12 and full-series blocks that also include the OVAs. After the broadcast, all episodes will remain free for one week on the service. You can find the program listing on the official ABEMA page.
A Not-So-Wholesome Way to Spend Christmas Eve Night
If your idea of a “holy night” involves calm couples and heartwarming endings, this probably is not the show for you. But if you want a legendary train-wreck romance to laugh, shout and maybe cringe your way through, lining up School Days on ABEMA might be the perfect way to spend Christmas Eve.
