Anime no Musashino is returning for its fourth year, and this time the city of Musashino is teaming up with the brand-new anime project Mobile Police Patlabor EZY. From February 2026, Kichijoji, Mitaka and Musashisakai will host screenings, talks, a production-art exhibit and a sticker giveaway, turning the area into a small Patlabor-themed route for anime fans.
Anime no Musashino: A City Project Built Around Anime and Manga
Launched in 2022, Anime no Mangano Musashino is a regional project run by the Musashino Chamber of Commerce and the Musashino City Tourism Organization to promote the city as a home of anime and manga. It links local studios, creators and businesses through events and campaigns so visitors actually walk the streets instead of just watching shows at home. From the 2025 fiscal year, the anime-focused side is branded as Anime no Musashino, nicknamed “Animusa.”
Patlabor EZY as the 2025–2026 Headliner Collaboration
The 2025–2026 edition centers on Mobile Police Patlabor EZY, a new Patlabor project set to start in 2026. It brings back key staff such as director Yutaka Izubuchi, writer Kazunori Itō and composer Kenji Kawai, with Musashino-based studio J.C.STAFF in charge of animation. Pairing a classic “future Tokyo and police mecha” franchise with a real Tokyo suburb famous for anime makes Patlabor an ideal flagship for this year’s campaign.

Animusa Festival in Kichijoji: Screenings and Talk Sessions
The main event is the fourth Animusa Festival on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Musashino Public Hall in Kichijoji. The day will feature screenings connected to the Patlabor franchise plus talk sessions that look back on the series and ahead to Patlabor EZY. Kichijoji is already a popular hangout for anime and manga fans, so combining the festival with local cafés and shops makes for an easy one-day trip.
Production Art Exhibit at Musashino Place in Musashisakai
From Monday, February 16 to Sunday, February 22, 2026 (closed Wednesday the 18th), the first-floor gallery of Musashino Place in Musashisakai will host a free production-materials exhibit. With support from J.C.STAFF, visitors can view layouts, design sheets and other behind-the-scenes materials that show how Patlabor EZY is being made. The venue sits right by Musashisakai Station, so it is simple to include between Kichijoji and Mitaka stops.
Sticker Hunt Around Mitaka and Planning an Anime Trip
In late February 2026, the project will also distribute original stickers featuring new Patlabor EZY art around the north exit of Mitaka Station, with detailed dates and participation rules to be announced later. For overseas visitors, timing a short trip for mid to late February lets you aim for the Animusa Festival, drop by the Musashino Place exhibit and then return to hunt for stickers in Mitaka. All three areas are linked by the JR Chūō Line west of central Tokyo, and you can follow future updates through the official site at animan634.com and the X account @kouhouaniman634.
