Why Magnetic Rose, Stink Bomb, and Cannon Fodder still hit

Three visions, three tones: Koji Morimoto & Satoshi Kon’s operatic sci-fi Magnetic Rose; Tensai Okamura’s pitch-black satire Stink Bomb (from a Katsuhiro Otomo concept); and Otomo’s own Cannon Fodder, staged as a single bravura shot. Music by Yoko Kanno, Jun Miyake, and Hiroyuki Kōtaka, with opening/ending by Takkyu Ishino, makes this revival as much a sound event as a visual one.
