Spira Spica Returns to Shine with “Ao to Kirameki” in My Dress-Up Darling Season 2

Spira Spica Returns for My Dress-Up Darling Season 2

Sunshine meets anime again! The J-pop band Spira Spica, beloved for their cheerful and heartfelt songs, has been announced as the opening theme artist for the upcoming Season 2 of My Dress-Up Darling (その着せ替え人形は恋をする). Their new track, titled “Ao to Kirameki,” will light up the series when it airs this July 2025.

Who Is Spira Spica? A Smile-Filled J-pop Journey

Spira Spica, led by vocalist Mikiha (幹葉), debuted in 2018 with a signature style of pure pop-rock and uplifting lyrics. Known as the “sunshine heroine,” Mikiha is also active as a radio DJ, magazine contributor, and even a suit actor on NHK’s The Wakey Show. The band’s vibrant energy and bright melodies have won them fans across anime, sports, and commercial soundtracks.

About the Song: “Ao to Kirameki” and Its Message

The new opening theme, “Ao to Kirameki” (“Blue and Sparkle”), captures the youthful spirit of Season 2 and the theme of embracing what you love. With a fast tempo and soaring vocals, the track aims to reflect the evolving relationship between main characters Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa. A short preview can already be heard in the anime’s official OP reveal video.

Back for More: From “San San Days” to Season 2

This is not Spira Spica’s first collaboration with My Dress-Up Darling. They previously performed the Season 1 opening “San San Days,” which became a massive hit with over 25 million streams worldwide. Their return in Season 2 feels both natural and highly anticipated by fans.
