New Anime OP Theme “Kanojo wa Ima, Meikyuu no Naka.” Out April 8
Virtual singer KAF, signed under KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO and PHENOMENON RECORD, is currently holding a special pop-up event titled “KAF no Shinshun Sakura-sai – KAF Aru Tokoro ni, Haru Ari. Hokori Hana Biyori” at Shibuya Sakura Stage 404 Not Found. Drawing major attention, the event features exclusive exhibitions, merchandise, and even the first-ever live audience recording of her hit radio show Panpaka Kafy(R) on interfm.
A Festival of Music, Art, and Fan Connection
Launched on April 5, the pop-up store brings together an immersive fan experience including a display of KAF’s live performance history, original drinks devised by KAF herself, and sales of her latest Blu-ray releases. Notably, the 4th ONE-MAN LIVE “Kaika” and its alternate take “Kaika (Re)” were released on March 26, along with a celebration of her alter ego Kaika‘s debut album “Umareru Mae Kara Kimi wo Shitteru.”
Despite rainy weather, over 100 fans lined up before doors opened on Day 1, reflecting the intense anticipation for this event. On the same day, a limited screening of KAF’s legendary first solo live “Fukakai” drew such a large crowd that entry had to be restricted.
First Live Recording of “Panpaka Kafy(R)”
On April 5, KAF held her very first public recording session for Panpaka Kafy(R), the interfm radio show that has been airing since 2022. 200 lucky fans, affectionately known as “Panpakaz,” were selected via lottery and gathered from across Japan.
As the session began, KAF appeared via live relay from the interfm studio, met with thunderous applause from the crowd. While a brief technical hiccup interrupted the audio, the staff handled it smoothly, even displaying a humorous “System Trouble In Progress” message—creating a lighthearted moment that bonded everyone even more.
Now in its fourth year, the show’s subtitle has shifted to “Seishun-hen” (Youth Edition), focusing on the theme of adolescence and youthful memories. Fans submitted stories such as “a summer river trip,” “seat shuffling in class,” and “sweet memories from driver’s ed camp.” International voices were also heard, including a fan on a working holiday from Korea and another who chose to study in Japan after high school in Macau.
KAF engaged in heartfelt cross-talks with message contributors, handing out exclusive show stickers on the spot. The entire hour-long session was filled with warmth and genuine connection.
The recorded episode will be broadcast on interfm on April 8, from 23:00 to 23:30 JST, and archived on AuDee starting April 9.
New Anime Theme Song: “Kanojo wa Ima, Meikyuu no Naka.”
KAF also continues to expand her presence in the anime world. She performs the opening theme for the new TV anime Chuuzenji-sensei Mononoke Kougi-roku: Sensei ga Nazo wo Toite Shimau Kara, premiering April 7 on TV Tokyo, BS TV Tokyo, and AT-X.
The song, “Kanojo wa Ima, Meikyuu no Naka.” (lit. “She is Now, in a Maze”), is a collaboration with popular music unit HoneyWorks and will be digitally released on April 8. The track is written and composed by HoneyWorks and MARUMOCHI.
