If you’ve ever wanted an excuse to revisit You’re Under Arrest (逮捕しちゃうぞ) the way it should look on a modern screen, this is it. Bandai Namco Filmworks is releasing the original 1994–1995 OVA (FILE.1–4) on Blu-ray with a brand-new master created via HD telecine, landing in Japan on January 28, 2026. It’s also packed with 30th anniversary extras, including event talk footage and a booklet loaded with newly recorded interviews.
A 30th anniversary Blu-ray with a fresh HD master
The main draw is the new remaster. This release uses a newly created master made through an HD telecine process, positioned as the OVA’s first Blu-ray upgrade of this kind. If you’re a fan who grew up with the classic look, this is the “same show, sharper and cleaner” kind of update.

Other video extras include a Blu-ray announcement commercial, non-credit OP and ED, and a preview video that previously appeared in a Bandai Visual entertainment magazine.
New interviews and artwork in the deluxe booklet set
The included 16-page booklet leans hard into “collector edition” territory. It includes a newly recorded interview with original creator Kōsuke Fujishima, plus new cast and staff conversations.
Packaging also comes with a double book case using newly drawn illustrations by Atsuko Nakajima (character design/chief animation director) and Tokuyuki Matsutake (animation director on select OVA episodes).
