Alba’s absolute fave is coming to TV at last. The BL reincarnation fantasy Saioshi no Gikei o Mederu Tame, Nagaikishimasu!(最推しの義兄を愛でるため、長生きします!) will air as a “light anime” in January 2026, with Murase Ayumu as Alba and Aoi Shouta as his beloved stepbrother Orsis. At the same time, AlphaPolis has revealed the covers for the newest light novel volume 6 in both regular and special-edition versions—perfect timing if you want to dive into the original before the show drops.
BL reincarnation fantasy Saioshi anime set for January 2026 debut
Based on the boys’ love light novel series by Tenma Asahi with illustrations by Kazuaki, Saioshi no Gikei o Mederu Tame, Nagaikishimasu! follows Alba, a frail noble kid who suddenly remembers his past life—and realizes this world is the BL game where his “absolute fave” was a popular character. Worse, he’s now the little brother whose death once stole that fave’s smile. Determined not to repeat that tragedy, Alba decides to live long, get healthy, and protect his stepbrother’s happiness at all costs.
The TV adaptation is produced as a “light anime” under AnimationID’s BL label BALLOON, using a streamlined production pipeline developed by Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) to deliver anime faster and at lower cost while keeping the focus on character appeal. The series is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 in Japan, with more broadcast and streaming details to come via the official site.

Murase Ayumu and Aoi Shouta lead the stepbrother BL light anime cast
For the anime, the central pair finally gets their voices. Alba will be played by Murase Ayumu, known for his ability to switch between soft, earnest boys and emotionally intense roles. Orsis, Alba’s cool but gentle stepbrother and original “oshi,” is voiced by Aoi Shouta, whose clear, elegant tone is a natural fit for princely BL leads.
Murase comments that while the title sounds wild—becoming brothers with your fave—the story itself has heavier themes under its warmth, and Alba’s straightforward effort is what keeps the series comforting for a wide audience. Aoi, meanwhile, says he wants Orsis to look irresistibly charming both to Alba and to viewers, and he’s excited to act out how Orsis changes as the story moves forward. It’s exactly the sort of casting that makes BL fans go, “Yes, that’s them.”
Why Alba and Orsis’s stepbrother bond clicks with BL and isekai fans
At its core, Saioshi blends several fan-favorite hooks. There’s the isekai and reincarnation angle: Alba brings meta-knowledge from his past life as a gamer, desperately dodging death flags. There’s the stepbrother BL setup: instead of a random love interest, his “oshi” is now family, adding sweet domestic moments and emotional baggage. And wrapped around it all is a warm fantasy slice-of-life tone, full of hugs, shared meals, and praise spam aimed at raising Orsis’s self-esteem.
For overseas viewers, this makes the show an easy sell if you like soft BL with a fantasy setting rather than only angst or explicit content. Expect a tone closer to “healing isekai with romantic undertones” than dark tragedy—though the danger of Alba’s short lifespan keeps the stakes real.
Volume 6 novel details, special booklet edition, and manga updates
To line up with the anime, AlphaPolis is releasing volume 6 of the light novel on December 10 with both a regular edition and a special edition that includes a 40-page bonus booklet. The new story sees Alba working at the royal palace during a long vacation, juggling royal baby news, neighboring-country trouble, and plenty of “welcome home” hugs and dangerously close fanservice from Orsis. The regular edition is priced at ¥1,650 (tax in), while the special edition with booklet costs ¥2,750 (tax in).
If you prefer comics, the manga adaptation—illustrated by Tsujimoto Aki—is also ongoing, with volume 2 already on sale. Reading the manga gives you a visual taste of Alba and Orsis’s dynamic that should line up nicely with the anime’s key visual.
