A dungeon survivor who gains power by eating
The premise is delightfully straightforward: the more monsters the hero eats, the stronger he gets. The story follows Rudo, an E-rank adventurer whose only skill is “status ailment immunity.” It helps him gather herbs in a miasma-filled labyrinth, but it does not make him a fighter. He is mocked by other adventurers and stuck in a dead-end role.
Then things go bad fast. During a new dungeon challenge, Rudo is betrayed by his own party and left for dead. With supplies gone and his body failing, he chooses the taboo option: he eats monster meat to survive. That desperate decision becomes his turning point, kicking off a “monster-eating” adventure where every encounter can mean a new skill and a new chance to climb out of the bottom tier.
AnimationID brings the title as a “Light Anime”
This TV anime is being produced as part of AnimationID, a joint initiative involving Imagica Infos and DNP. The project promotes a “Light Anime” production approach that aims to make animation projects more achievable in schedule and cost, while still delivering a satisfying viewing experience. In other words, AnimationID is actively turning manga and webtoon-style works into broadcast-ready anime faster than traditional routes often allow.
