Buncololi, the author behind Sasaki and Peeps and Nishino, has officially hit his 10th anniversary as a professional novelist—and the celebration comes with big news. A second season of the Sasaki and Peeps TV anime is set to air in 2026, while new Japanese releases for both series give light novel fans plenty of ways to join the party.

From Web Novels to Sasaki and Peeps: Ten Years of Buncololi

Buncololi started out on web fiction platforms like Shōsetsuka ni Narō and Kakuyomu before making his commercial debut and quickly becoming a familiar name in MF Bunko J’s line-up. His breakout hits include the fantasy–isekai mashup Sasaki and Peeps and the school-setting power fantasy Nishino: Gakunai Caste Saikai ni shite Inou Sekai Saikyō no Shōnen, both of which grew from web novels into full light novel and manga series.

Sasaki and Peeps as a Global Fantasy and Isekai Hit

Sasaki and Peeps follows a burnt-out salaryman who adopts a tiny bird, only to learn it’s a reincarnated arch-mage from another world. Their dimension-hopping side hustle escalates into psychic battles, magical girls, and full-on isekai politics. The series has been adapted into a manga and a TV anime, with Yen Press handling the English release and Crunchyroll streaming the show in many regions, turning it into a recognizable fantasy–isekai title for overseas fans as well.

Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 Confirmed for a 2026 TV Return

During the MF Bunko J Autumn School Festival 2025 stage, Kadokawa announced that Sasaki and Peeps will return to Japanese TV in 2026 with a second season, roughly two years after the first season aired from January to March 2024. A fresh key visual was shown at the event and on anime news sites, confirming that the series will continue Sasaki’s increasingly chaotic double life. Detailed broadcast slots and platforms have not been revealed yet, but 2026 is now locked in as the year of the comeback.

New Light Novels: Sasaki and Peeps 12 and Nishino SS

To line up with the anniversary, MF Bunko J has released two new Japanese volumes on November 25, 2025. Sasaki and Peeps 12 pushes the series into a long-teased “magical girl goes all-in” phase, with fairy-world MacGuffins and a heavily advertised TS-focused storyline. Nishino SS Collection: A Certain Day’s Events gathers bonus short stories, store extras and event booklets, then adds a brand-new epilogue showing the “after” lives of Nishino and his friends—effectively serving as the true final volume for that series.

Places to Read Buncololi’s Stories in Japanese and English

If you read Japanese, the easiest way to dive in is via MF Bunko J’s official pages and special sites: Sasaki and Peeps special site and the Nishino portal both offer volume lists, sample chapters and purchase links. English-only readers can pick up Sasaki and Peeps via Yen On/Yen Press in print or digital formats, and catch the anime on Crunchyroll where available. At the moment Nishino does not have an official English release, making it a “Japanese-only treat” tied closely to Buncololi’s 10-year journey.

Ways Overseas Fans Can Join the 10th Anniversary Hype

KADOKAWA has prepared a 10th-anniversary feature for Buncololi on its entertainment web magazine Mequrimequru, looking back over his career and hosting special content tied to his series. Even if you cannot read all the Japanese, it is a handy hub for links, visuals and campaign info. Pair that with the Sasaki and Peeps anime website, MF Bunko J’s official pages, and the X accounts for MF Bunko J and Sasaki and Peeps, and you have a solid roadmap to follow the 2026 season and whatever comes next from Buncololi’s imagination.

Where to Start Before Sasaki and Peeps Returns in 2026

Whether you are already fond of Sasaki’s not-so-relaxing “isekai plus psychic battle” lifestyle or you only vaguely recognize the bird on the cover, Buncololi’s 10th anniversary is a perfect excuse to jump in. Check out the Mequrimequru anniversary feature, browse the latest light novel releases, and choose your ideal starting point before season 2 lands in 2026.
